Fireplace
I was just asked about the linear fireplace that I wanted to put in my place. He couldn't picture a 72" fireplace. I guess I can understand why. :)
It's not your everyday fireplace.
Here is a photo just in case anyone is interested. It is sleek, modern, and such a focal point to the room! I found this one at www.sparkfires.com
For now, I will have to keep dreaming!

Hi Taniya,
ReplyDeleteI just watched an episode of Designed to Sell with you at the Zimmer's house, the one with the "coffee kitchen" I've been searching high and low for months and months for some taupe beige coffee colored granite slab and have found nothing. The only thing I've found have lots of gold or red or green or pink, but NOTHING just plain taupe coffee brown. The granite you used is I believe close to what I've been looking for. Can you provide me with the name or some names of granite like that? Sincerely, Nichole londonbrixton at gmail.com
Hi Nichole,
ReplyDeleteI ran across the same problem. What's up with all the pink! :) Finding the perfect color in granite can be tough because each slab tends to vary in color. That's why a lot of people have a tough time trying to match their existing granite if they decide to add a backsplash down the road.
I used Venetian Gold which had alot of deep brown bits in it. The slab I found had less gold (actually almost none) and more cream in it. Try a few different places (if you haven't already). See if they will give you a sample to take home. Often times the lighting is far different in the granite shop than in your own home.
Good luck! Let me know what you end up using.
Taniya
